This is a space dedicated to helping you find a home for your poems. Here’s what you can expect…
Look up publishers, agents, magazines, and contests based on your needs. Want magazines focused on long-form verse? What about a publisher for that collection you've been working on for years? We've got you covered! We keep an up to date listing that lets you know when submissions are opened or closed.
Add magazines, publishers, agents, and contests to your favorite's list as you conduct a search on the site. When you begin submitting, add them to your submissions folder in your account, or download our handy tracker sheet.
Each individual publisher, agent, contest, and magazine page features a conversation board where you and other poets can talk about everything from the timeline from submission to when a decision has been made, the pay-rate for the publication of your work, or interactions you've had with the organization. These conversations are meant to be lively, informative, and promote transparency.
Each month, you'll be able to preregister for a master-lecture from a poet, agent, or editor. This will be a lecture followed by a discussion, spanning a total of 90-minutes.
So, while you're trying to get your work out there, come and chat with some of the leaders in the field.
Coming in 2024.
The prolific poet Kamau Brathwaite once wrote “[we] have to be concerned with the sources of a poet’s life [,] a people’s inspiration[,] and try to protect[,] care as best [we] can, those sources.” Getting your work out there, publishing it, winning contests, and getting paid for your creativity are ways that we can begin to protect and honor “the sources” of YOUR life and livelihood.
Your creativity deserves to be sponsored, published, paid for, and put out into the world.
